We have just returned from Maine after helping Susie’s aunt celebrate her 90th in Sorrento. And a Grande Dame she is indeed. Sharp as a tack and clearly the family leader. I am proud to know her.

We only had 4 days so not much time for shooting. We did make a return to Prospect Harbor. Here is the Prospect Harbor Lighthouse shot on September 3, 2012.

Prospect Harbor is clearly for the working lobsterman.

For convenience, many houses in Maine have names. This is especially true on the Weirhaven Farm Located on the Waukeag Neck Peninsula near Sorrento. We were fortunate to be invited to stay at the house called Guestwick.

The road to Guestwick bares the same name. The view is West towards Ingalls Island on Frenchman Bay.

Ululate Gallery News

I am excited to announce my premiere exibition kindly hosted by the Ululate Gallery in Mount Vernon, WA. I met Chuck Britt last year and learned that he had the gallery. I was pleased when he asked me to show after seeing my Flickr page. There is a poster published by the gallery with the details.

I should also add that the current exhibition is by a talented young aritst

My interest in photography began in 1975 as the photographer for the Army’s 26th Signal Battalion in Heilbronn, Germany. I spent many hours in the darkroom printing mostly photos of reenlistments and promotions. It was during this period that travel photography began to appeal to me.

After a time away from photography to attend university, build a career and raise a family, I rediscovered the art as digital cameras became available, allowing me to combine an interest in both technology and photography. In 2001 I purchased my first two-megapixel digital camera. I firmly believe that a still photograph is the best way to capture a moment in time. My style is to produce fine art with a documentary discipline. I strive for images to be free from special effects and intense post processing, occasionally manipulating light and dark ranges.

My photography captures community with the people and elements that help define it. The natural environment is an integral component and this is reflected in my portfolio. Live theater, travel, local agriculture, outdoor recreation and local events are also well represented. My goal is to capture a moment in time accurately.
